On freerepublic.com today I saw a post in which the person who wrote the message said that an insider told him that the fastest-growing office in the COB is Confidential Records, which processes name removals.

The folks who work in that office, being snowed under by letters of resignations, must be having quite a time hanging on to their "testimonies." And the "Brethren" surely know that all's not hunky dory in Saintsville...

I see all the doctrinal changes, subtle alterations to the BoM, etc. as the MorgCorp's frantic efforts to deal with objections to "church" history. Turbulence now, they most likely think, but in a few decades all but the most assiduous researchers will take the sanitized versions as gospel (pun intended) and Holy Joe's numerous wives, Breed'em's ironhanded rule, plural marriages, and all the rest will be conveniently out of sight. I don't know that we ever taught that...uh huh.

I would love to have the diisposable cash to buy a complete JoD...with genuinely old books with these damnable doctrines in print, it'd be hard for anyone to swallow the pap that now is coming out. Just love to read some of that myself in the original print...

Hell, a repro Talisman of Jupiter wouldn't be amiss either!

I found an Iphone app that was the complete JoD ... pain in the keister to use though, things were not easy or quick to find. Maybe better these days?

I think you can find JoD online.

There are some vendors that will sell replica versions of the 1830 BoM, the 1833 BoC, 1835 D&C and early hymnbooks at (my opinion) a pretty reasonable rate.

I have the JoD on my Kindle smartphone app and it is very interesting to read during all the boring crap I have to listen to during SM. My TBM DH doesn't like me doing that but I have pointed out how it is quoted a lot in the correlated lesson material of the church for various classes. That usually shuts him up.
